What are they?

Mission Statement:

The Central Station Alarm Association (CSAA) Central Station Excellence Awards recognize any UL-listed Central Station, CSAA members and non-members, and outstanding personnel who perform in the highest professional manner, thereby having made a significant contribution to the betterment of the alarm industry and the alarm profession, while demonstrating exceptional service to their customers and community.

These awards are sponsored by SDM Magazine.

The purpose of the awards are to:

  • Establish and promote the inherent value of central station services in general.
  • Honor those who have made the most significant contributions to the service.
  • Promote the distinct level of professionalism attained by UL-Listed Central Stations.

Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Penn. Tickets are included in the ESX Deluxe Pass or can be purchased separately for the CSAA Member Early Bird rate of $50 (if purchased before May 21).

How to I Participate?

The CSAA Central Station Excellence Award program, sponsored by SDM Magazine, is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year.

To celebrate the occasion, CSAA staff met with past winners of the Awards to evaluate the program and the process. As a result, several exciting changes have been made:

  • The Award program added an additional Award this year, the Central Station Support Person of the Year Excellence Award.

Is there an exceptional person in your organization other than the central station manager or operator, who makes your central station a better place--perhaps a data entry staff member, a trainer, the IT guru, the tech that fixes everything, the employee that keeps morale high?

This Award recognizes the exceptional contributions of that person to the successful operation of the central station.
  • Companies applying for the Central Station Manager of the Year, Central Station Operator of the Year, and Central Station Support Person of the Year Excellence Awards will no longer need to complete the application for Central Station of the Year.
  • There will no longer be a five years' company restriction to submit candidates to the Central Station Manager of the Year, Central Station Operator of the Year, Central Station Support Person of the Year Excellence Award.

However, the company may not submit the same person for the same award for three years.
  • The five-year company restriction to enter the Central Station of the Year Excellence award is reduced to three years.
  • All personnel nominated by their company for either the Central Station Manager, Operator, or Support Person of the Year will receive a CSAA congratulatory letter in recognition of their nomination as the best-of-the-best in their company.
  • The application process was reviewed, simplified and streamed lined.
  • Companies now have two months to apply for the Awards, rather one.
All applications must be received by March 29, 2010.

To apply, you must download to your computer and complete the linked documents below. Detailed instructions are on the application form.
